North Fayette Township has begun construction of roadway and intersection improvements along West Allegheny Road near the school complex. Improvements include the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of West Allegheny Road, the West Allegheny Middle/High School Entrance, and Penn Lincoln Center. As part of the intersection improvements, West Allegheny Road will be widened to allow for the installation of left turn lanes to both the Middle/High School Campus and Penn Lincoln Center. In addition to widening, the alignment of the Middle/High School Campus and California Hollow Road will be improved to accommodate the installation of the traffic signal. The project is funded in part by a Multi Modal Grant awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, along with funds contributed from the Township’s General Fund and Traffic Impact Fee Fund, with inhouse construction management and support provided by the Department of Public Works. Roadway widening, realignment, and paving activities are currently underway with the installation of traffic signals anticipated for Fall 2021.
Please contact the Department of Community Development with any questions regarding the West Allegheny Road Improvement Project.
