North Fayette Township levies 3 taxes; a Real Estate Tax for property owners, an Earned Income Tax for working residents, and the Local Services Tax, for any employee working within the Township.

General Tax Information
Township tax bills are mailed on May 1st. The 2% discount amount is due by June 30, and the face amount is due by August 31 with a 10% penalty for payments received after August 31st. School tax bills are mailed on July 1st. The 2% discount amount is due by August 31, and the face amount is due by October 31 with a 10% for payments received after October 31st. Non-cash payments may be placed in the drop box in front of the tax office door.
The Allegheny County Office of Property Assessment is responsible for the assessment of each property within the County. You can contact the Allegheny County Office of Property Assessment at 412-350-4600 regarding your assessed market value or appeals. You can access your assessed market value via the Allegheny County Real Estate portal. The current Township Real Estate Tax Millage is 3.29 Mills (.00329).
New homeowners may be eligible for the Act 50 Homestead Exclusion (School only) and/or Senior Citizens may be eligible for Act 77 Senior Citizens Tax Relief (Township only). Please contact Allegheny County at 412.350.4100 for more information regarding both programs. If your application is approved by Allegheny County, the approved application will be automatically forwarded to the Township and applied to your respective tax bills.

West Allegheny School Real Estate Tax Online Payments

The Local Services Tax is $52 per year for employees who earn more than $12,000 per year. By law, this tax is split between North Fayette Township and the West Allegheny School District. Of this amount, the Township receives $47 and $5 goes to the School District.

The Township enacted a 1% Earned Income Tax. By law, the tax is split between North Fayette Township and West Allegheny School District. The School District receives 1/2% and the Township receives 1/2%. Local Earned Income Taxes are not collected by the North Fayette Township Tax Collector. Act 32 of 2008 provides for earned income taxes to be withheld by employers and remitted to an appointed tax collector on your behalf. All municipalities in Pennsylvania are part of a Tax Collection District (TCD).
