Home Chemotherapy Treatments
Hazardous medical waste such as at home chemotherapy treatments cannot be disposed of with the normal household trash. Please contact the doctor's office for information on proper disposal.
Medical Recycling Materials
Medical related recycling materials (hoses, etc.) cannot be placed in recycling for pickup. The recycling plant will not accept medical items. These items can be placed in with your regular trash.
Hypodermic Needles
Hypodermic needles need to be placed inside a container with a lid (example: approved container from pharmacist or doctor's office, coffee can with lid or plastic water bottle or pop bottle) before placing the container inside a garbage bag to insure the safety of Township sanitation workers.
The
Guide To Medical Waste Disposal explains how to properly classify, package, and safely dispose of all forms of medical waste.
