Senior Programs

Senior Citizens enjoy monthly lunches held the second Wednesday of the month from September to May. Entertainment at the lunches varies from guest speakers to school groups to games.

Luncheons are held at the North Fayette Community Center.  Cost of lunch is $5 per person.  Seniors are invited to bring a dessert to share.  Bring a canned good donation for the West Allegheny Food Pantry to be entered to win a prize.  RSVP to 724-307-3725 to attend the luncheon.  
A picnic is held in June to conclude the season. Trips to shows and other recreational opportunities are scheduled at various time throughout the year.

Senior Citizens should contact the Recreation Department to be placed on the Senior Citizens mailing list for a monthly newsletter outlining all activities available in the Township.

Water Aerobics

- Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Water Aerobics features shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required!  A kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination. The Water Aerobics program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year, 5:00- 6:00 pm at Donaldson Elementary School Pool, 600 Donaldson Road, Oakdale, PA 15071.  Cost is $2 per session, payable at the pool.

Water Walking

- Walking in water for ½ hour is the equivalent of walking on land for two hours. The Water Walking program is offered Monday through Thursday during the school year, 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Donaldson Elementary School Pool, 600 Donaldson Road, Oakdale, PA 15071.  Cost is $2 per session, payable at the pool.
Walking track – Start your day with a morning walk with friends. The 1/17 mile indoor walking track is suspended above the gymnasium and is available for use during regular center hours.  

Pickle ball

– Join in a pickle ball game at the Community Center gym.  Pickle ball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.  Played on
a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net using a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.  May be played as doubles or singles.

Senior Strut/Sculpt

- A circuit type workout to increase your cardiovascular and muscle endurance.  Upper body strength work with hand held weights and small balls with low impact aerobic choreography.  A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Fitness Class fees

:  $7.00 per class OR purchase a punch card for ANY 10 classes:  $40/$4 a class for members OR $60/$6 a class for non-members. 
Classes titled as “Senior” are included in yearly membership to the community center.
