K-9

The North Fayette Police Department K-9 Unit will provide support to NFPD members and other surrounding law enforcement agencies by safely and efficiently searching buildings and vehicles, apprehending suspects, tracking fleeing suspects, and protecting Police Officers. The K-9 will also provide support by finding evidence, searching for lost subjects that are in extreme danger and giving public demonstrations for civic events and organizations.

Donations


K-9s are considered a specialty unit, which means a department could technically run without them. There are simply not enough funds for most agencies to include the cost of a K-9 and their up-keep in the general budget.

Due to this, the North Fayette Township Police K-9 Unit relies greatly upon contributions to maintain the high standard of care that is required. 100% of the K-9 donations are used solely for the care, maintenance, and training of the Unit. Documentation is provided for charitable tax donations upon request.
